The Venue – Panorama Farms, Charlottesville
Open fields, old barns, tall grass, privacy – a perfect wedding venue for seclusion and beautiful vistas. The Couple – Jen + Ted
These 2 super athletes love the outdoors – marathons, climbing, hiking – so the outdoors was the only place for these lovebirds. They chose to do a first-look near the old barn in the shade of a tree prior to the arrival of all the guests. Glad we did, since we had a lot of family portraits to cover following the ceremony.
I have to say – it was hot. A summer wedding at Panorama is likely going to be warm. The location for the ceremony was in an open field, which was beautiful, but thanks to a breeze we cooled off and made our couple more comfortable. Emily was with Jen inside of the barn getting ready while Ted and the groomsmen arrived ready to be photographed by me. I tend to use a lot of the Canon 50mm L, which accounts for a lot of the shots. Jen + Ted were excited for some sunset photographs, so we all took a break from the reception to head to one of the many open fields for some shots. At night we placed some Canon 600‘s inside of the barn to create a more lit up barn in the background.
